On the 18th, the much awaited event saw its grand opening in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Cho Hyun, The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea.
The festival offered various activities, games and entertainment for all to experience “Korea in India”. From activities like Juldarigi (Tug-Of-War), K-Food spicy challenge, Breaking lucky basket game, Feel Korea Stamp Tour (Sweepstakes), Royal Table exhibition, Korean Make-up session, Flag tattoo experience, K-pop/K-drama contest, Korean traditional crafts, folk games etc where the crowd actively participated.
The first part of the event featured the activities and games along with performance by K-Pop fans dance groups – KFREAKS, HOMM, RHYTEMIX, ZEPHYR & KILLUSION grooving to hits of EXO, BTS, BIG BANG, VIXX, TWICE, BLACK PINK etc infusing the spirit of K-Pop to everyone present there. The crowd also witnessed a cooking show by Chef Hyosub Shin where some lucky fans even got to taste it.
The Festival had something for everyone as it showcased both Korean traditional and modern performances. From beautiful cultural showcase to gravity defying moves from Gamblerz/Animation Crew and Kukiwon team, to getting the crowd down in fits of laughter by the Ongals.
The evening session had performances from KCCI’s Taekwondo Team which was followed by jaw dropping performance by Kukiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team. A special Bollywood fusion performance was also specially showcased for the visiting guests from Korea. Ongals then, took the stage and had the crowd roaring in laughter with their slapstick comedy, impressive magic and noteworthy beat-boxing.
However, the highlight of the event was the K-POP extravaganza. Two Idol groups A.CIAN and B.I.G enthralled the crowd with their energetic and fantastic performances. The groups definitely won the hearts of all those present, be it the fans or the many who had their first experience of K-Pop music.
