Former 4MINUTE member Jeon Jiyoon is set to make a solo debut!
Although she has released music independent of the group in the past, such as her duet with BTOB’s Ilhoon for “Unpretty Rapstar,” this will be Jiyoon’s first standalone release.
The singer/rapper recently signed with the agency JS E&M, which currently houses artists like Chun Jung Myung, Seo Ha Joon, Byun Jung Soo, and Yang Mi Ra.
On August 8, JS E&M announced intentions to strongly support Jiyoon’s solo career as they stated, “Jiyoon has unlimited potential. We have created a special producing team for Jiyoon to actively support her from music to acting, and also on variety shows.”
They also stated, “She will be releasing a new song mid-October. It will be a song encompassing her skills in dance, vocals, and rap from her 7 years with 4MINUTE. The single will kick off her official solo career. The form of the single album has yet to be confirmed; however, we will give unlimited support for her to freely express her potential as a singer.”
Meanwhile, Jiyoon left 4MINUTE and Cube Entertainment in June of 2016.
