Boy Group Survival Show “Boys24” To Begin in June

Look forward to watching a new kind of hallyu content with the upcoming boys group survival show Boys24.

Kpop India

Come June and you can look forward for a new boy group survival show by CJ E&M titled “Boys24.”

What is this show about, you ask? Interestingly Boys24 is the male version of hugely popular show Produce 101 that ended with the formation of the new girl group we all know as I.O.I. However unlike Produce 101, the upcoming show has different context, as in it shall be a team based competition rather than an individual based one.

To begin with this is a mega K-pop performance project by CJ E&M and Liveworks Company. This will be a new K-pop performance project which will feature 49 boys selected from a sea of applicants. The boys shall compete every week in units to make for a slot in specially selected top 24.

The top 24 contestants will then form a group called Boys24. Thereafter receiving training, the boys will go on to hold live performances (including K-pop, musicals stages, acrobats etc) starting August, for 365 days straight at their permanently established concert venue at Popcorn Hall, Mesa Building in Myeondong, Seoul.

Later after presenting multiple performances in their exclusive concert hall, appearing on the TV show and gaining a dedicated fandom, the production company will then select the highest ranking members and finally put them in an idol group leading them to their debut. The final unit will win 200 million won that will be invested in their group production and promotions.

Take a look at the below trailers of the upcoming survival show to know what we are talking about.

Woah!! Isn’t the content and context already looking quite promising? With so many performances, new faces, a humungous production cost of 25 billion won by the company and compiled with a new kind of hallyu content, we are so looking forward to the Boys24 show.

How about you? Would you be watching Boys24? With 8 episodes to follow, the show premiers on June 18th at 11:30 pm (KST) on Mnet and tvN.
