The six member group consisting of Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji debuted on 15th of January 2015 with “Glass Bead”, an unexpected hit from a rookie group belonging to a small company. Their comeback with “Me Gustas Tu”, on 23rd of July 2015, proved to be their breakout hit. A viral video of member Yuju falling down fifteen times on a slippery stage during a performance further increased their public visibility. Their third comeback on 15th of January 2016 resulted in the most successful song of 2016 so far, “Rough”, a fifteen time winner on various music shows.

Expectations were high for their next comeback, and the girls have managed to be consistent with their new single, “Navillera.” Immediately upon release, it topped various music charts online, further cementing their status as one of the fastest rising stars of the Hallyu Wave.

The song retains the feel of their previous releases; harmonized drums, synths, and their signature instrument, the violin, also including the compulsory electric guitar solo in the middle for an explosive dance break. The fresh, youthful voices of the members clearly ring out throughout, making for an easy listening experience. The lyrics talk about young love, not a new concept, but well executed nonetheless. While it lacks zing, there are signs of their future sound evolving into a newer direction as evidenced by the slightly faster pace and 90s JPop influences.
