GIRLS’ GENERATION will be making a much awaited comeback under a new sub-unit ‘Oh!GG’!
The new unit group’s name, ‘GIRLS’ GENERATION-Oh!GG’, is made of the combination of the exclamation sound ‘Oh!’ and the abbreviation of ‘GIRLS’ GENERATION’, ‘GG’. The members participating in this unit are TAEYEON, SUNNY, HYOYEON, YURI and YOONA. They will release their first digital single “Lil’ Touch” as a quintet on September 5th. It will also feature a b-side “Fermata.”
‘몰랐니 (Lil’ Touch)’ is an up-tempo pop song with an addictive chorus and dynamic composition.
Girls’ Generation debuted as a nine-membered group back in 2007 under SM Entertainment. The group became an octet in 2014 with the departure of former member Jessica. Following the expiration of contract, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun also opted out of renewing their contracts with SM Entertainment to pursue solo ventures in October of 2017.
Oh!GG is the second unit group from within Girls’ Generation following TTS, which was last active in 2015 and features Tiffany, Taeyeon, and Seohyun.
“Lil’ Touch” will be the first single released under the Girls’ Generation title since last year’s 10th anniversary duo “Holiday” and “All Night” off of their 10th anniversary Holiday Night album last August.
