GOT7 have kicked off their first solo concert Fly In Seoul on April 29th.
This is the first time the JYP Entertainment boy band has embarked on a concert tour since their debut, unfortunately leader Jaebum (JB) had to sit out the Seoul concerts due to a back injury.
GOT7 had a comeback this March with their mini-album titled Flight Log: Departure. Meanwhile promoting their comeback songs and winning multiple awards for their title track “Fly” the members had also been preparing for their first solo concert, when leader JB suffered a spinal disc injury and could not participate in the concerts.
As it is said The Show Must Go On, the other six members of GOT7 went on to greet the fans and proceed with the concert without JB on Day 1 of the Fly In Seoul concert. Members even left out a space for JB while performing, also singing excluding his parts which was filled up by the fans singing. Apart from giving a full-on performance for their songs, the members even went on to cross dress and perform on girl group songs.
Though the fans wished a speedy recovery for JB, they expressed sadness for not being able to see him perform. However, to everyone’s surprise during the end of the April 29th concert, JB appeared on stage. Though unable to walk properly, with support from members he thanked fans and asked them to enjoy the concert whole heartedly. Touching the heart of every fan present he also assured them that he remains undeterred and shall come back as a stronger JB. Take a look at the below fancam to see JB’s appearance.
Later all the remaining GOT7 members went on to thank fans via their official twitter, stating “Thank you, thank you, to IGOT7 who made #GOT7 1st Concert ‘Fly in Seoul’ so bright. Return home safely! IGOT7 Thank you for coming! Love you all!”
JYP Ent. is currently resting JB, doing their all to get him back to his optimal health. Will he be able to perform in the international concerts or not, will depend upon his recovery status.
After Seoul GOT7 shall be continuing the first leg of their tour in Shanghai, China on May 8th. Thereafter they shall hold concerts in Japan, China, Thailand and Singapore well through June, heading onto US and Hong kong in July.
