The highly anticipated series “Producer” tops the list of must-see Korean dramas in May 2015. “Producer” will mark the television return of Kim Soo Hyun, an actor whose popularity grew exponentially following his role as Do Min Joon in the Hallyu hit, “My Love From The Star.” The 27-year-old heartthrob will turn heads in the series as Baek Seung Chan, a would-be prosecutor who abandons a career in law enforcement to pursue television production.

Gong Hyo Jin follows her successful dramas “The Master’s Sun” and “It’s Okay, That’s Love” with her “Producer” role of Tak Ye Ji, a “Music Bank” producer with 10 years of experience. She is expected to go head to head with Cha Tae Hyun, who portrays Ra Joon Mo, another seasoned variety show producer-director. Unfortunately, Joon Mo has had a bad run with his past series.

Singer-songwriter and actress IU rounds out the main cast as Cindy, a former child star who has developed into a frosty K-pop idol. K-Drama fans are thrilled for the reunion of IU and Kim Soo Hyun, who appeared together in the 2011 musical series, “Dream High.”

AOA’s Seolhyun follows her solid performance in “Gangnam 1970” with her portrayal of Baek Ma Ri in “Orange Marmalade.” The series, which is based on a Naver webtoon, is set within an alternate universe where vampires and humans coexist under the auspices of a tenuous 200 year peace treaty. Ma Ri is a vampire who conceals her identity through the guise of a typical high school student.

Yeo Jin Goo portrays Jung Jae Min, a popular human high school student who falls in love with Ma Ri. CNBLUE’s Jonghyun will serve help to create a love triangle in the series as Han Si Hoo, a vampire who continues to consume human blood. If the series remains faithful to the plot of the webtoon, Si Hoo was once engaged to Ma Ri, which will undoubtedly create friction with Jae Min.

“Orange Marmalade” premieres on KBS2 on May 15 in the Friday 10:35 p.m. KST time slot.
