Mnet’s rap competition show, Show Me the Money is coming back with Season 5 this year, and as per the reports this time the show shall see participation from international rappers too.
Owning to its immense popularity the show’s producers have received requests to include overseas rappers into the show, an Mnet’s insider informed. To allow more cultural diversity into the show, it has opened doors to international rappers holding auditions both in Korea and US.
The audition time period shall be from February 1st to midnight of March 6th. All the rappers who are interested to participate in the show can upload their 15 second audition videos on instagram with the hashtags in Hangul -#쇼미더머니지원 and #쇼미지원, or can register for their applications here.
The auditions are open for all rappers, regardless of age or gender, experienced or amateur. All contestants who qualify for the show shall be appearing in Show Me the Money, Season 5 scheduled to air in May this year.
The last season saw a massive participation with an application of about 7000 contestants, including idol group WINNER’s Song Mino, who was also the runner up. Other hallyu rappers who participated were VIXX Ravi, Seventeen’s Vernon, Monsta-X Jooheon, former member of SPEED, Taewoon and many others. Veteran rappers like Innovator, Microdot, Basick and Blacknut were also seen on the show.The last season’s winner was Rapper Basick.
This season is also looking super entertaining as already some of established rappers from the industry are making it to be contestants on the show and to add on to the fun and diversity, international rappers will be bringing their music and rap skills to the show this time.
With promising artists regardless of age, gender or nationality participating in the upcoming season, this show promises to be pure entertainment living up to the phrase – Music definitely has no boundaries!!
