The current ongoing tvN series ‘Pied Piper’ has been hit with Plagiarism and is being investigated.

According to the reports, Web-toon artist Go Dong-dong posed suspicion towards tvN drama ‘Pied Piper’ claiming the drama plagiarized one of his modern version of Pied Piper folk tale which he submitted for 2014 scenario contest. The artist also stated that though the scenario was not award winner but made it till third round and also main writer Ryu Young-jae who was first round judge of the contest back then appreciated his unique narration of tale.

Ryu Young-jae, the writer of ‘Pied Piper’ responded to the controversy claiming that the story was his own creation, where the story submitted by Go Dong-dong was titled ‘Ring Road and not ‘Pied Piper’ and also as a first round judge he was given only introductory part of the story for the review and didn’t have access to complete scenario.

For which writer Go responded stating that though the story was titled ‘Ring Road’ initially, he changed it to ‘Pied Piper’ for the second and third round and that writer Rye had complete access for his work, which is enough to take plagiarism action against Ryu.

Drama series ‘Pied Piper’ follows police crises negotiation team as they try to solve cases without using forces. The Police Crises Negotiation team works on cases like attempted suicides, hostage situations terror situations and other worst case scenarios that require highly trained communication.

This 16 episode drama will air its final episode on 25th April and will be occupied by ‘Another Miss Oh’.
