TVXQ, Big Bang, EXO and More Win at 30th Japan Golden Disc Awards

K-Pop acts pick up several awards at 30th Japan Gold Disc Awards

The Hallyu has long since spread to it’s neighboring countries especially with so many K-Pop artists branching out into the J-Pop industry. And it seems like several K-Pop artists were awarded at the 30th Japan Golden Disc Awards!

Legendary group TVXQ proved once again that their name ‘The Rising Lords of the East’ is not just a namesake as they were awarded the title of ‘Best Asian Artist‘ for the third consecutive time, as they have been winning this title since 2014. They also won ‘Best Music Video (Asia)‘ for their DVD “TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2015: WITH”, hence giving them a double crown at this year’s awards!

Power boy group and labelmate EXO also received two awards at the event – ‘New Artist‘ and ‘Asia’s Best 3 Artist‘ awards.

Big Bang‘s fiercely addictive chart topping hit “BANG BANG BANG” was awarded the title of ‘Song of the Year (by downloads)‘.

Another SM Entertainment act, Super Junior D&E (Donghae & Eunhyuk) were awarded ‘Album of the Year‘ and also ranked in the ‘Best 3 Album’ award.

What makes the awards for the ‘Best 3 Album‘ award extra special is the fact that all three award recipients were K-Pop artists – Super Junior D&E‘s “Present”, 2PM‘s “2PM of 2PM” and Junho‘s “So Good.”

Girl group Dal Shabet and the charismatic boys of Block B were also awarded with ‘Asia’s Best 3 Artist‘ awards.

The Hallyu wave is definitely a force to be reckoned with! Congratulations to all the winners!
