In an industry where countless new K-pop acts join the scene each month, one of the rookie girl group that is making waves with just two months after debut, TWICE already have a number of credits to boast off!
They proved to be the rookie queens with their debut MV “Like OOH-AHH” from their album “The Story begins”, crossing 3 million views within 4 days of its release and 10 million within a month. Twice have signed 10 CF contracts totaling to around 1.8 billion won, the most for any rookie group after a month since their debut. Twice were nominated for the “Artist of the Year” and awarded the “Best New Female Artist” at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
And on December 11th, Simply K-POP named TWICE as the “Best Rising Star Girl Group” of the year 2015.
The young girls had a strong fan base even before their debut, as they first featured on Mnet‘s survival program SIXTEEN, an intense reality elimination competition among JYP trainees. The 9 girls competed against 7 other trainees and earned their right to debut as TWICE.
If you have not seen the MV yet, then you’re missing out on Kpop’s biggest revelation in 2015.
